People are priced out of every game because the perceived value that one sees in a product (at $60, $20, $10, $5, doesn't really matter) is going to vary from person to person. Being priced out of a game isn't exploitative. This whole "(X) is a fair price" as a generality rather than on a case-by-case basis is so misinformed. Some people think Skyrim is too expensive at $20. Nintendo charging too high of a price for some people is exploitative? Some people undoubtedly think God of War is too expensive at $60. I think this wording is absolutely ridiculous.
I mean you can buy it now, but for the longest time that was only way to get it directly from Nintendo. I'm still bummed out the Super Mario Galaxy OST was only available by a Club Nintendo reward after all of these years. Then again Nintendo has a bad habit of generally not putting out CDs of their music for sale, with the exception of being a special occasion. It's bad enough I don't think the OST was ever for sale. There was two tracks when you played the game one while the game is active and another more subdued version when in the pause menu also special variants when fighting a boss or in their lair. And you still wouldn't have a comparable game because of all the QOL enhancements they made to the Switch port. In order to have all the content in Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition you would need to buy the Wii U version, all Wii U DLC, the 3DS version, and all 3DS DLC. You would be spending over $100 for pig headed stubbornness to get the same value you can get for $60, or if you have Amazon or GCU, $48.Īnd comparing this to a port of Pong is one of the dumbest fucking things I have ever seen said on this or the old forums. It's fucking ridiculous to try and compare the three games. To get the same amount of content you would not just have to go buy the Wii U game and all of its DLC, but you would also need to buy the 3DS version and all of its DLC as well. That's why it's called the god damn Definitive Edition. It's Hyrule Warriors with rebalanced gameplay, improved frame rate, the Wii U DLC, the 3DS DLC, and the 3DS exclusive campaigns and content that the Wii U never even got. It's not even Hyrule Warriors plus the Wii U DLC plus the 3DS DLC. It's not even Hyrule Warriors plus all the DLC ported to Switch. This isn't just Hyrule Warriors ported to the Switch.
